I’m having trouble having the player load movies from another directory and/or another server as well. I can’t get any more info other than “Error opening URL ‘http://www.sinthesisent.com/tester.flv’”

I’ve tried taking out the videoDirectory and having the whole url in the videoFileName and splitting the url, but nothing.

Any suggestions?

I have a new version of this player and an AS3 player, however I think most people the free JD Player works good enough for them. If I get some requests for new video players I would be more than happy to put out another one.

hi. I’m the webmaster of the above named web site. I think it is so awesome that you would provide a video player free for download. And I hate to bother you. but I am trying to figure out which elements to swap out in your code. can you create a short README instructional and send it to me please?
I am working on the page http://heritagechristiancenter.net/520090329sun.html and I am trying to insert my own video where yours is. but I am having problems. in the long run it will be a different video altogether, a lecture video, but right now I am just trying to get it to work while I am compressing the other video in Final Cut.

they download but not run by run menu in flex builder.

Not Stephen, ME. I must appologize, but one of the modifications in the long post I put above was incomplete. I had done ‘other things’ to the code, and it changed the outcome for the mute thing. Please make the following changes…

The code above that is placed in two locations that reads…

ratio = 0;
ratio = Math.round(((volumeSlider._x / volumeSliderBar._width) * 100));
audio_sound.setVolume((ratio – 239)-initialVolumeLevel);

.. change to ..

ratio = 0;
ratio = Math.round(((volumeSlider._x / volumeSliderBar._width) * 100));
if (muteMC._currentFrame == 1) {
audio_sound.setVolume((ratio – 239)-initialVolumeLevel);
}

I bet Stephen caught that and was grinning. Its all cool. Thanks.

Beautiful job on this coverflow. We are using it to help drive traffic back to our website, however, when we place the object tag on a webpage everything works except the artwork does not appear.

Any ideas?

I will be releasing a new player that is fully tested and works great most likely later this week. It will not have so much of the customization code at the top that the previous one did. I think that code is just clogging up what could be very beautiful code. This new version will have am optional scrubber, fullscreen functionality, buffering notice and all the rest. Add this RSS feed to your reader to check if I put it up.

Yep, that was a long one. I noticed noone mentioned the Rewind Button not working?? Well, after another hour, I got that one going too. I also added a nice little counter just under the progress bar. I know Stephen would understand that whenever you offer something for free, some seem to forget the word “FREE” when everything is not ElPerfecto. It is rare for someone to just hand you a cool piece of code like this player, so enjoy!! It has all the good bells and whistles. Most freebies are cut down junky versions that take a lot of work to get back to the level this one is at.

For those with the ‘drag volume, pause not working after’ problem, since it was not addressed here… It took about an hour, but I am new to this.
