On View A Dogon Figure from Mali: Bridge to the Spirit World
From January 9th to February 9, 2022, this single-object exhibit features a Dogon carved wood figure. The background also includes information on Dogon peoples that live mostly in Mali’s Bandiagara escarpment. The new exhibition is a rare chance for art lovers to take the time to look at and discuss one single piece.

Panama 66 can be found in the May S. Marcy Sculpture Court at The San Diego Museum of Art. They offer lunch and dinner as well as live music and weekends brunch. San Diego Museum of Art's mission to stimulate, educate, cultivate curiosity and share great works of artwork is its goal. Major exhibitions are regularly held at the museum from all over the world. This allows the museum to bring new artworks to San Diego and also shares our exhibitions and holdings with people around the world. It hosts a wide variety of education and cultural events for adults and kids throughout the year. Culture & Cocktails (film in the garden), Art After Hours (art after hours) offer unique cultural experiences for adults. Summer Camps, Teen Summer Studios and Family Drop-in Days provide exciting opportunities for young artists. Admission is always free for visitors ages 17 & under at The San Diego Museum of Art.
San Diego Museum of Art’s European Gallery contains works of such artists Goya Rubens, Zurbaran and Rubens. At the museum's entrance, you will find beautiful full-body sculptures from artists Velazquez, Murillo and Zurbaran. The May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden is open 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; closed Wednesday; open 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and open noon-5:00 p.m Sunday. You can have drinks from Panama 66's restaurant in the Sculpture Garden. Otherwise, no food or outside drinks are allowed inside the Garden at any time.

Groups, Event and Event Ticketing
All social, family and religious groups are welcome to visit The San Diego Museum of Art. Self-Guided groups (minimum of 10 paying people) require a reservation and payment 14-days in advance. Reservations for groups that require a Docent-guided tour must be made 21 days in advance. All groups require one adult chaperone per ten children below the age 15.

Tuesdays for Residents Free
San Diego County residents with ID are eligible for free entry to the San Diego Museum of Art every Tuesday. A valid ID is required for admission, and certain restrictions apply as these days tend to be busy. It is not allowed to bring beverages, bags, or any other large items. You are asked to leave any larger items behind. Prior to guest admission to the Museum, bag sizes greater than 16x16x8inches will be subject to a coat check. We are grateful for your help in keeping the Museum's works of art safe.

What is the cost to visit San Diego Museum of Art?
Individuals and their families can enter the museum for $3.00 if they present a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Electronic Benefits Transfers card (EBT), and a valid ID. EBT cards are valid for up to 4 people.
