Complete Guide To Using Instacart At Aldi (+ Tips & Tricks!)
Aldi, an American grocery chain founded in Germany, has partnered since 2017 with Instacart. It can seem daunting to begin shopping with Instacart online if it’s your first time.
Aldi customers are able to select Instacart delivery. This comes with fees ranging from $4-10. Pick-up costs between $2-5. Aldi offers Instacart Express for $9.99/month and free delivery for all orders above $25. Instacart may have slightly higher prices than usual for Aldi groceries.
Instacart: Where can you order from Aldi
Instacart account is required first. Sign up at www.Instacart.com or download it from your app store. Follow these instructions to establish an account.
To add to your account, you will need a debit card or credit card. You can also use your EBT card to make payments.
Instacart will display the stores that you can shop from once it has located you. Choose the one you want, and when it moves to the main shopping screen, double-check about midway down the screen (mobile app) to make sure it’s set to the location you picked.
Once you have completed this, it is time to start making your shopping list. Website and app are separated by section. You will see your bake goods, fruits, frozen items, etc.
When you place your first order, the app will create a shopping list called “Buy It Again” that includes previous orders. You can also reorder items by adding to it each time you place another order.
If you purchased something a few weeks earlier and you can’t remember what it was, Buy It Again is a good place to look, and that menu has headers at the top to help you search by department.
A second tip is to pay attention when shopping for products. You can buy bananas by their quantity or weight in pounds. You can change the quantity and the measurement by clicking on the item.
Once you’ve completed the list, it is time to go to checkout. A delivery order must be placed at least $35. Pick-up orders require a pickup order to qualify for a discount of $10.
In checkout, confirm delivery/pick-up. Choose from time slots available. Verify your contact details and verify your method of payment. Then go over your cart again before placing an order.
Scroll down to the bottom of your total and you’ll see an option for “Add promo code” or “Add gift card.” This is important, particularly if you are new to shopping. There are often free shipping offers, but you can also find other promos.
After you submit your order you will receive a confirmation message on the app (or website), a confirmation email and a confirmation push notification on your phone.
Now wait for Aldi shoppers to begin. You receive another notification when someone begins; that’s your sign to keep an eye on your cart. Aldi shoppers tend to be very friendly. They will usually reach out via the chat function at the beginning of the order to say hello.
Because of the ever-fluctuating nature of Aldi’s restocking, it is a good idea to keep your phone close or your web browser open while shopping is taking place; that way, if they have run out of something or have a question about an item, you can answer them in a timely fashion.
If you are unable to find everything in your shopping cart, the shopper may be able get you something close, or even issue a refund.
Aldi stores all of its items in a cooler/freezer, until they are bagged or delivered to your vehicle.
This app keeps you informed about all steps of your delivery and pick-up so there are no surprises. If you opted for delivery, oftentimes your driver will send you a photo of your items where he or she left them.
