Safeway is well-respected for being accommodating.
Safeway permits customers to exchange or return most items provided that they keep the receipt. Both perishable and non-perishable items can be returned excluding Alcohol and baby formula.
Can I Return Groceries to Safeway Without a Receipt?
Safeway requires that all customers return their merchandise within 30 days of receipt. Customers can still exchange their items if they don’t possess a receipt.
You can request that they be reimbursed if you pay with credit/debit cards.
Safeway can refund your purchase only if you are not able to provide proof.
A cash refund may also be approved if the requested refund is under $5
Is there a time limit on returns for Safeway?
Safeway doesn’t have an overall time limit on returns. Each return is treated individually based on what product the customer is returning.
Managers at stores will decide what is a reasonable time to make a return.
The time they grant for non perishables may be longer than those for meat and other produce.
Due to the uncertainty of their return time limit, customers are recommended to bring their purchases in for a return as soon as they are able to, in order to ensure they are fully refunded.
Does Safeway Charge for Returns?
As 2022, Safeway does not charge customers for making returns or exchanges.
Customers who request a refund or exchange will only be reimbursed if the receipt they received is valid.
Where Do I Return Products to Safeway?
Safeway allows customers to return products by going to the reception desk.
Returns can only be made to the Safeway where they were bought. Any items brought into a different store location will not be accepted for return.
Customer service may not be available during normal business hours at Safeway.
So it’s recommended to phone the store and check for the customer service hours before bringing your items in for return.
What Products Does Safeway Not Accept for Returns?
While Safeway will accept most products for return, they currently do not accept alcohol or baby formula for return.
Safeway cannot also accept gift cards as returns or exchanges, because they aren’t considered merchandise.
Because every Safeway has its own time limit for allowing returns, some Safeway locations may not be able to process returns for expired meat, dairy products, or other spoiled food.
To ensure a return, customers should immediately send any perishables back to us.
What can I do to return items to Safeway Starbucks?
Safeway Starbucks will accept returns of any packaged teas, coffees, or cups as long the item is unopened and within 30 days.
Although customers are technically not allowed to return any crafted drinks, Starbucks will make the drink completely new for them if it was improperly prepared.
They will usually require customers to dispose of the previous drink themselves, as they cannot generally take back drinks that have been handed out. However, this may vary per kiosk.
Safeway Starbucks requires their customers to have a receipt in order to process a return, as not every kiosk is able to look up previous transactions.
Also, certain kiosks can grant store credit as a return if the customer has not received a receipt. The rules may vary by kiosk.
Starbucks gift cards may be returned provided the customer retains the receipt.
Clearance products are eligible for exchange or return as long as there is no final sale sticker.
Can Safeway Pharmacy accept returns?
Safeway pharmacy does not accept returns for retail. All items bought in the pharmacy, such as hygiene products, must be returned to the customer service desk.
A Safeway pharmacy located in British Columbia has a disposal service that can be utilized for prescriptions that have expired or ceased being used.
Unfortunately, Safeway pharmacy cannot refund their customers for medication that has been returned, as they are unable to refund prescriptions.
