You will get the best results if you have at least 1 inch chip.

Bring in any item, image or prop that inspires you.

After the computers have done their thing matching it, dab a bit of the new paint onto a piece of paper and let it dry – paint can change colors as it dries.

Both Home Depot and Lowe’s will color-match paint that comes from the other’s stores, or from neither’s stores!

It is also free. They will likely find you the right paint color and you will most likely buy it immediately.

Lowe’s Vs Home Depot paint: Quality + Best Overall

Consumer Reports’ top ten paint brands are Lowe’s Sherwin Williams & Home Depot’s Behr.

Sherwin William also makes it on to the Good Housekeeping top 10 interior paints list (but not for the colors). However, I don’t think GH could feature inferior-quality paint.

Country Living gave Home Depot’s Behr Marquee, and PPG high marks for their durability and coverage.

However, my personal experience with paint from each store is different.

I used the Sherwin Williams Showcase brand paint for a home office.

I usually use Behr but tried the Sherwin-Williams paint.

When I went to pull the painter’s tape off the baseboards and window trims, the dried paint peeled off, too, in big chunks.

Home Depot’s Behr Marquee has never done that. Its one-coat warranty is very true and the end product always looks great.

I would 100 percent recommend Home Depot’s Behr Marquee over any other interior paint.

Sherwin Williams’ Infinity is similar in quality. However, it’s more expensive.

(I also want to mention that Behr Marquee was usually on sale at $39.

For paint and primer in one (plus one-coat coverage) and outstanding durability, go with the Behr Marquee.

Conclusion

Lowe’s and Home Depot rank among the top retailers in the country for a good reason.

Both interiors as well as exteriors can be painted with ease at either store.

But, when it is about interior paints, Home Depot’s Behr marquee gets my highest recommendation, at $45.98 per gallon.
