If you are thinking of switching to Verizon from another wireless carrier but still want your same number, You don’t know what steps you will need to take to transfer your number to another carrier.
You can easily transfer your Verizon phone number to any carrier by using a Verizon Transfer Pin. Verizon put this in place as a security precaution to ensure your phone is protected from unauthorised requests. The Verizon Transfer Pin must be requested before you can begin transferring your phone number to another account.
What Is a Verizon Transfer Pin?
A Verizon Transfer Pin is what you need to request if you want to port your mobile number out from Verizon to another carrier, which should be done before beginning the port-out process.
Verizon’s Transfer Pin is designed to safeguard your phone number.
In order to port the data to the new carrier you’ll also need to ask for the Number Transfer PIN and provide your account number.
However, it’s important to note that you shouldn’t disconnect your Verizon line before you’ve completed the number transfer process since this will cause you to lose your number.
Verizon will initiate the porting process for your new carrier. Once that is complete, Verizon will disconnect your phone line.

For as long as your account is postpaid, the Verizon Transfer Pin will only be 6 digits.
How Do I Get My Verizon Transfer Pin?
You will however need to be the account administrator or owner in order to request a Verizon Transfer pin.
By dialing #PORT from your phone, you can get the Verizon Transfer Pin. Your browser will then direct to the Transfer PIN website.
You can access the My Verizon app by dialing #PORT. The app will open automatically and direct you to the right screen.
Likewise, you can request the Transfer Pin online by going to the Number Transfer PIN section of the website.
To continue, however, you will need to first log in.
Once you get to the website page click on “Generate a Pin”. You’ll be able to view your account number along with the Transfer PIN.
Important to know is that the Transfer Pin will only work for one week.
This is why you need to get the job done as quickly as possible.
Verizon Port Pin:
If you’re trying to port a corporate or business number out of Verizon, first, you’ll need to have the account number from your employer.
In addition, Verizon must be contacted by the employer to request that they put the number on auto-port.
You can now use the Transfer Pin #0000 after you’ve completed all of these steps.
This is the default PIN. It includes the account number that will be used to port your business number.
Does Verizon Prepaid Have a Transfer Pin?
You don’t need to request a Transfer Pin if you have a Verizon Prepaid account, but you’ll need to have your four-digit account PIN if you’d like to transfer your number elsewhere.
Furthermore, for all Verizon prepaid accounts, the four-digit account PIN will be recognized as your Transfer Pin, regardless of what carrier you’re switching your number to.
As with postpaid Verizon plan plans, your Transfer Pin won’t be in effect for more than 7 days. Therefore, you will have limited time to complete the porting out process.

Does Verizon Charge a Transfer Pin Fee?
You don’t have to pay any additional fee for requesting the Transfer Pin. It is also free for regular Verizon customers.
If you are on a Verizon contract and transfer your number to another carrier, an early termination fee will apply.
You may be charged an additional $350 to terminate your contract early depending on how long it has been.
The fee for a close call will decrease if it is nearing its end.
Also, to stop any charges related to those services or devices, you must cancel them.
Products and devices such as smartwatches or tablets would be included.
