Walmart Late Policy In 2022

Walmart has a late policy that is based upon a points system. Walmart associates will receive 1/2 off if they arrive late 15 minutes to 2 hours before their scheduled shift. Associates who are late to work by more than half the time receive 1/2 point. Associates who don’t turn up for work will get 2 points. Walmart associates can earn a maximum of five points before being terminated.

What is the Walmart Point System?

Walmart points are part of its attendance policy, which aims not to incentivize associates for tardiness and unexpected absences.

This was revised in 2019 with employees receiving a maximum of five points. Associate who receives more than five points will be fired.

Associates who are late to work will not be awarded a point.

Aside from that, those who take a break early in their shifts might receive half an extra point. Unexpected absences over the holiday period may earn you a maximum 3 point.

Walmart Points last for how long?

Walmart points do not accumulate continuously during associate time.

To make the system fair and to allow for any unexpected emergencies or obligations, each associate’s points are reset after six months.

In addition, authorized absences are not counted in the points system. So, Walmart employees do not have to worry about losing their job for missing five or more shifts during a six month period for the following reasons:

Walmart Allows How Many Absences

Associates will only receive three points if they are absent unexpectedly during Holiday shifts. This is according to Walmart’s point system.

For absences during standard trading periods, they will receive one point. An absence is defined by Walmart as working less than half of a scheduled shift.

An associate could be given up to five weeks leave depending on their absence.

Or, they could be absent from one holiday shift and two standard shifts. You can also terminate them if you are unintentionally absent for two holiday shifts.

Walmart Rewarding Good Attendance

Walmart rewards its associates for good attendance as part of their updated attendance policy. To encourage dependability and consistency, Walmart provides incentives.

In 2019, full-time Walmart employees and part-time Walmart employees can receive increased cash bonuses each quarter.

Employees with perfect attendance records are eligible for an extra 25% bonus in their quarterly bonuses. Those with one or two points may also still be eligible for an increased bonus.

Walmart quarterly bonuses are distributed based on a number of factors, the main one being store performance. The year 2019 was the first year of attendance bonuses. Hourly associates were awarded almost $800 million in bonuses.

Walmart: How Do You Get in at the Counter?

Walmart employees, no matter how late or early you may be, will need to clock in to their shift via the GTA Time Clock App.

GTA Time Clock apps users only need to sign up with OneWalmart. Users will have to input a unique password and user ID to confirm their identity.

Then, once logged in, they simply have to select “Clock In” to start their shift. If they’re already in the office, they can choose to “Clock In” or “Meal Start”, “Meal End” and “Clock Out”.
